Given the height differential, an attack to the knee might be more advisable

 

 

How Britannia ruled the waves…

This image shows ships’ boys being instructed at singlestick, maybe by the ship’s Master at Arms. The weapon appears to be a simple ash stick with wickerwork basket. No further protection is being worn. There were several ships named H.M.S. Britannia… I do not even pretend to know which one it may be.
