Rare French épées with circular bronze guards
Rattling the point of the opponent…
This matched set of French fencing épées has circular brass guards with corrugated, concentric ridges. the string-wrapped handles and guard show traces of repeat use. The points are not rebated but appear to have been designed for potential sharpening, making these two fencing épées potential dueling weapons.
A wonderful pair of weapons and a nice arragement.
